Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum on South Carolina’s Charleston Harbor is a must-see. With WWII aircraft carrier USS Yorktown as centerpiece, the Museum is also home to destroyer USS Laffey, the Cold War Memorial, the Vietnam Experience, the Medal of Honor Museum and the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. It’s nearly 1,000,000 square feet of hands-on history combined with heroes’ stories and stunning natural landscapes.
Rickett's Glen State Park Benton Pennsylvania
Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most scenic areas in Pennsylvania. This large park is comprised of 13,193 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia counties.
Ricketts Glen harbors the Glens Natural Area -- a National Natural Landmark. Hike the Falls Trail System to explore the glens, which boasts a series of wild, free-flowing waterfalls, each cascading through rock-strewn clefts in this ancient hillside.
The 94-foot Ganoga Falls is the highest of 22 named waterfalls. Old growth timber and diverse wildlife add to the beauty.
Chester County Council’s Camp Horseshoe offers one of the last seven day traditional Scouts BSA summer resident camp programs in the country. With over 40+ merit badge choices, a stellar first-year program, computer lab, STEM offerings, a multitude of SIP’s as well as older-Scout program opportunities including COPE, mountain biking and Independent Merit Badge Studies, Camp Horseshoe has something for every Scout.
